(althans, dat hoop ik, want ik heb ze natuurlijk nog niet gelezen!) 🙂 Ik heb weer een aantal prachtige boeken gekocht via The Book Depository die deze week binnen kwamen en ik kan niet wachten om ze aan jullie te laten zien!

Showcase Sunday
Hey daar! Hoe gaat het met jullie? Ik typ dit blogje op de allerlaatste dag van mijn vakantie. Sniff! Waar is de tijd gebleven dat we 6 weken vakantie hadden? Ik mis die tijden. Alhoewel, dan moest je daarna terug naar school en dat hoeft voor mij dan weer niet per se… Ik zat vorige week lekker in Engeland. We gingen naar Leeds, York en Newcastle en bezochten Durham Castle. Het was een onwijs leuke reis! De afgelopen week zijn we vooral druk bezig geweest met klussen. Hoewel de woonkamer, keuken en slaapkamer redelijk ver af zijn (er missen alleen nog lampen en schilderijen) maar onze studeerkamers hadden nog flink wat nodig. We hebben mijn kamer geverfd, nieuwe meubels gekocht en alles ingericht. En het ziet er zo leuk uit! Ik zal jullie binnenkort ook foto’s laten zien van de vakantie en een kijkje in ons huis gunnen. Maar nu is het eerst tijd voor… boeken!
Halverwege de vakantie in Engeland bedacht ik dat ik geen blogjes voor jullie had ingepland. Oeps! Ik ben de laatste tijd sowieso bizar druk geweest en dat is er dan ook helemaal bij ingeschoten. Ik was echt toe aan vakantie! En hoewel ik best nog een weekje zou willen, ga ik morgen weer aan het werk en stiekem heb ik daar toch ook wel een beetje zin in. In ieder geval, mijn hoofd is weer fris en fruitig en ik heb de afgelopen weken wat toffe boeken gelezen waar ik jullie nog over wil vertellen. Maar ik heb ook veel leuke boeken gekocht en daar is vandaag voor. Want het is nog een paar uurtjes zondag, dus… tijd voor een showcase!

Hoi allemaal! Het is even geleden dat ik een blogje heb getikt. Zoals ik eerder al aangaf, heb ik het momenteel super druk met verhuizen en werk en heb ik niet echt tijd of energie om aan andere dingen te denken. Inmiddels zijn we bijna klaar. Er staan nog maar een paar dozen en hoewel het best wel een rommeltje is, begin het er wel echt uit te zien als een thuis, en dat is zo fijn! Vandaag hadden we even een dagje rust. Niet te veel doen aan het huisje, maar gewoon lekker samen zijn. En daarom neem ik nu ook eventjes de tijd voor jullie om een showcase te typen. Ik zag tot mijn schrik dat de laatste ergens eind april was! Oef! Tijd voor een nieuwe, vinden jullie niet? Voor de rest van de week zal ik wat recensies inplannen die er nog staan en ik hoop ergens volgende week tijd te hebben om wat nieuwe recensies te schrijven. Maar nu eerst: boeken!

Pfoe. Ik moet telkens even bijkomen als ik een deel van deze serie uit heb. Het is zo goed! Het is zo ontzettend spannend!
De personages zijn levendig beschreven en ze voelen aan als echte ‘mensen’ (of Fae of whatever). Vooral Rhysand. Rhysand is echt fantastisch. Ik hou van Rhysand. Ja ik weet dat zo’n beetje iedereen dat heeft maar dat maakt niet uit, I’ll join the club! Maar goed, ze maken keuzes die ik totaal niet zag aankomen. Het boek heeft zo veel verschillende plotwendingen die onverwacht zijn en ik vind het knap dat een boek me keer op keer kan verrassen. Ik vond dit deel iets minder spannend dan deel twee en ik vroeg me de hele tijd af wat er nu op een andere plek gebeurde, maar alles komt uiteindelijk aan het licht in het einde en pfoe… Wat een einde! Het is maar goed dat deel drie al uit is want als jullie deel twee gaan lezen en hem uit hebben, moet je wel echt verder lezen!
Naast de personages is ook de setting heel sterk. Het voelt echt alsof je in die wereld bent. Oh wat zou ik graag in Velaris willen wonen! Het klinkt als een droom!
