Pfoe. Ik moet telkens even bijkomen als ik een deel van deze serie uit heb. Het is zo goed! Het is zo ontzettend spannend!

De personages zijn levendig beschreven en ze voelen aan als echte ‘mensen’ (of Fae of whatever). Vooral Rhysand. Rhysand is echt fantastisch. Ik hou van Rhysand. Ja ik weet dat zo’n beetje iedereen dat heeft maar dat maakt niet uit, I’ll join the club! Maar goed, ze maken keuzes die ik totaal niet zag aankomen. Het boek heeft zo veel verschillende plotwendingen die onverwacht zijn en ik vind het knap dat een boek me keer op keer kan verrassen. Ik vond dit deel iets minder spannend dan deel twee en ik vroeg me de hele tijd af wat er nu op een andere plek gebeurde, maar alles komt uiteindelijk aan het licht in het einde en pfoe… Wat een einde! Het is maar goed dat deel drie al uit is want als jullie deel twee gaan lezen en hem uit hebben, moet je wel echt verder lezen!

Naast de personages is ook de setting heel sterk. Het voelt echt alsof je in die wereld bent. Oh wat zou ik graag in Velaris willen wonen! Het klinkt als een droom!
