Ik las een recensie van dit boek op Romi’s blog en zij was zo positief dat ik hem ook wilde lezen. Normaal ben ik niet zo van de thrillers, al vond ik Gone Girl ook wel echt heel goed. In ieder geval, vanaf het moment dat ik erin begon te lezen, wilde ik hem eigenlijk niet meer wegleggen.

The silent patient is razend spannend. Vanaf pagina één zit je in het verhaal en leef je mee met zowel Alicia als Theo. Het verhaal is intrigerend en als lezer moet je gewoon te weten komen wat er aan de hand is, wat er is gebeurd. Je wordt telkens op het verkeerde spoor gezet en je weet dát er iemand liegt, maar je weet niet wie, of op welke manier.

Zowel Alicia als Theo zijn interessante personages. Ze zijn goed uitgewerkt en komen echt tot leven vanaf het papier.

De ontknoping is heel sterk. Ik zag deze niet aankomen. Daar hou ik altijd wel van, als een boek je compleet de andere kant op stuurt dan waar het uiteindelijk op uitkomt.

Dit boek is echt een aanrader. Ik heb het zo snel ik kon uitgelezen, ik kon er namelijk niet mee stoppen. Een boek wat je vanaf het begin tot het einde bezighoudt.
